United Clock Corporation Model 375 Electric "Banjo" clock, 1959

Vintage electric "Banjo" clock with moving pendulum. Manufacturedd by United Clock Corporation, Brooklyn N. Y. The inside back cover is stamped Nov 1959. The clock is about 6 inches wide by 19 inches tall. This is a vintage electric clock with a mechanical movement that moves the pendulum back and forth. It has a sweep seconds hand. As received, the tablet (picture) was missing. The picture in the clock is of a small farm in Western Maryland, but you can easily replace it with any picture you like that will fit.

The movement has been completely disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned, and lubricated. All the wheels look to be in good condition. The motor may have had a shroud enclosing the open flywheel at one time, but none was with the clock, and it is not required for the clock to run. The original cord was deemed unsafe and was replaced. The clock now seems to run fine, keeps time, and the pendulum moves smoothly. It is almost 50 years old and you can hear the motor and wheels turning if you get up close to it, which is typical of vintage electric clocks with mechanical movements after years of use. The clock has the original finish which is showing some crazing from age. The side arms are solid, and the hands and face are nice. The case has a few scuffs but as you can see from the pictures, it's a nice looking vintage electric clock.
