30 Hour German time & strike wag-on-the-wall clock, c 1980
This attractive little clock appears to have a faux antique finish. The 30 hr.
weight driven movement is essentially a modified Cuckoo clock movement with an
outside top bell strike housed in a plywood case. The clock and movement are
unidentified but the type of construction suggests a manufacture date from the last
quarter of the twentieth century. When presented for evaluation and repair it
quickly became obvious that the movement is badly worn including the escapement
pivot holes and the clock would not keep running. Unfortunately the owner was
unwilling to pay the cost for a proper repair so the clock was returned in the same
condition as it arrived.
