This Ansonia Boston Extra is an 8-day cast iron cased mantel clock with a Brocot style open escapement. The brass spring powered time and strike movement is typical of Ansonia and decently made. The open escapement has polished steel pallets. It strikes the hour and half-hour on a nice coiled gong. The open escapement runs strong and is fascinating to watch and only minimally complicates servicing the movement. The clock when presented for service was missing the door glass and required just a few bushings to return it to good running order
