This is a nice Seth Thomas brass ship's bells clock. The large bras bezel screws on and is removed to set and wind the clock which is a little inconvenient. The typical ship's bell sequence is struck on a heavy steel gong. Clock has a Seth Thomas 115D movement. Regulation is by a small jeweled platform escapement which was in good condition and was not disturbed. Like other ship's bell clocks, this one has a mechanism to silence the last bell of the half-hour pair. This one is somewhat unusual and typically a little fussy to adjust but once properly setup it will work reliably.
This one arrived with several previous improper repair attempts and related mechanical issues. It was repaired and returned to the owner in proper order.
