Swiza small lantern alarm clock, circa 20th
century
This is a small lantern style alarm clock made by Swiza, a popular Swiss
maker of small time pieces. The clock is about 3.5 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide
in the body. The case is heavy and appears to be brass, The face and
"crystal" are plastic. The single jewel movement is signed L. Schwab S.A.
Louis Schwab was one of the founders of Swiza in 1904. The movement is decently
made and uses a single spring for both the time and alarm. It appears to be a
one-day clock. Based on the plastic parts, I believe this clock was probably made
during the last quarter of the 20th century.
