Daniel Pratt & Son, "Beehive" clock, Circa 1860.

Classic "beehive" clock by Daniel Pratt & Son, Reading, Mass. Purchased on eBay Feb. 21, 2007 and shown here after restoration. 8-day time and strike unsigned brass movement. Daniel Pratt & Son reportedly purchased movements from various other makers. The maker of this movement has not been identified. Mostly complete original label. Upper glass is old, possibly original. Hands and dial are probably original. Tablet appears to be an older replacement. Missing veneer was replaced and the case repaired and refinished. Movement has been cleaned, bushed, and is in fine working condition. Two very old cards were tacked inside the case (see below). The one card with dates in the 1870s may be the dealer who sold or repaired the clock, The second card could be a previous owner.
