Made by Florenz Friederick Martin Kroeber
(1840-1911), New York circa 1888. Brass 8-day
movement with time and strike on the hour only.
Striles on a nice nickel plated bell.
Half-deadbeat escapement. The movement is stamped
F Kroeber New York, pat. June 26 & October 6,
1874. The movement is a bit unusual in that the
strike count wheel is attached directly to the
strike side main wheel. The clock has a
Jacot's Regulator dial adjustment
pendulum bob. The movement has been bushed as
needed and is in nice condition, as is the case.
There is no label and some indication that the
case may have been refinished, but not recently.
The clock was identified as the Florida
from a reprint of the 1888 Kroeber catalog.
