Greenfield - Hamburg American marriage clock, 2009
Some months ago I purchased this little 8-day time only German made Hamburg
American clock movement on eBay for parts, but found that it was really in
decent running condition, only needing a suspension spring - too nice to scrap for
parts. But what to do with it? Then I found this cute little wooden jewelry box in
a yard sale. It has nice etched glass panels and is just the right size for a
little clock, so a marriage was made. A friend gave me the little vintage pendulum
and I made the heavy brass bezel that is also part of the mounting system (shown
upside down in the photos). I made the dial from a reduced size image of a little
French clock. The hands are new. It has no real monetary value, but I like it, it
runs well, and I was able to put some extra parts to good use.
