Wm. L. Gilbert / New Haven Steeple Clock, circa 1870?
Attractive little steeple clock acquired from a collector in Delaware in 2006. Most
of the name is missing from the label but I believe it was made by Wm. L. Gilbert.
At some point the original movement had been replaced with this 8-day New Haven
movement of a later date. The tablet and dial are new replacements. Clock is in
fine mechanical condition and was gifted to a family member in 2006. It was
returned to me in January 2015 following the family member's death. It will now
remain part of my permanent collection. .
