Unidentified French Marble/Slate Mantel Clock

The is an 8-day time and strike French mantel clock. The movement is not signed. It strikes the hour and the half-hour on a small bell. It has an enamel dial and a small round movement with rack & snail strike. Clear glass back door. There is no maker's name on the case, but it appears to be a French design.

The clock came in for service and was repaired but I would like to be able to tell the owner who made the clock and and about how old it is. If you have, or have seen, a clock like this, I would love to hear from you.
