Unidentified miniature Cuckoo clock, circa modern.
This is a cute little miniature Cuckoo clock, probably late 20th. century German.
The house body is only 4 inches wide, so the works is a bit crowded inside. It was
part of an estate sale lot in 2007. I got if for the weights, which I needed for a
different clock but discovered that it was actually in running order except the
pendulum was missing. I added the pendulum shown and the little clock is running
just fine, even keeps pretty good time for a cheap Cuckoo. Both bellows tops were
replaced in March 2011 after the little bird "lost its voice".
It has little market value, but I take in all sorts of stray clocks. I think
it's kind of cute and I have a place for it, so it's become "one of
the family".
