Ansonia Brass and Copper Gothic Shelf Clock, circa 1860s
This is an early 8-day time and hour strike gothic shelf clock made by Ansonia Brass & Copper,
probably in the 1860s. Acquired in an eBay auction, February 2008. There is a date of 1874
written on the back, which is likely a service date. The clock has been refinished and the tablet
reconstructed. Both glasses appear to be original, as well as the face. The movement has been
restored and the clock is in fine running condition.
