Warren Telechron Model 8B07 digital clock, circa 1928
This is a very early electric clock made by Warren Telechron Co., Ashland, Mass.
The clock has a Bakelite case and numerals on metal wheels to display hours,
minutes, and seconds in "digital" format. There is a red/white power
failure indicator. The movement is powered by a Telechron B-2 rotor. There is a
number 24 stamped on the bottom, but I'm not sure what it indicates. It is my
understanding that the B-2 rotors were made from around 1927. I believe this clock
is probably from the late 1920's or early 1930's. When this clock came in
for service the Telechron motor would not run and the movement was stiff with dried
up oil and grease. The B-2 rotor was sent out to be rebuilt and the movement was
disassembled and cleaned and lubricated. With the rebuilt rotor in place the clock
now runs well.
